After holing up in a California studio with big-name producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Pixies) for most of 2012, Surfer Blood have unleashed the first single from their upcoming LP, Pythons.

The Florida band’s frontman John Paul Pitts has said of the fuzzy pop cut that it’s “a left of centre pop song about someone who is about to go through a manic episode”. In light of Pitts’ 2012 arrest for domestic violence, a lot of fans will find this comment hard to stomach – as we are again faced with the question of whether we can separate the music from the person?

We would love to hear your opinions, let us know what you think.
